- If you want the 24-hour cover → you don’t need to do anything. Participation continues automatically.
- If you don’t want it → you must submit an opt-out declaration through the PERKESO portal before 31 August 2026.
Miss the window without opting out, and you stay enrolled — with the contribution continuing.
Important: Local vs Foreign Employees
The choice isn’t the same for everyone:
- Local employees → participation is voluntary. You can opt out by the deadline if you choose.
- Foreign employees / expatriates → participation is mandatory. There is no opt-out.
So if you’re a local employee who’d rather not participate, the 31 August deadline is the one that matters to you.

Step 1: Go to the PERKESO portal
Visit the official LINDUNG portal: lindungfaedah.perkeso.gov.my
Step 2: Register / log in and open the Employee Declaration
Complete the declaration form for the LINDUNG 24 Jam scheme.
Step 3: Tick the opt-out option
Select “Saya Memilih Untuk Tidak Menyertai Skim LINDUNG 24 Jam” (I choose not to participate).
Step 4: Submit and keep the proof
Submit the declaration and download the Release of Liability Notice as your record.
Key point: Opting out means you will not be entitled to the scheme’s benefits. Make sure it’s a conscious choice — not a form you regret after an off-duty accident.
